Vendedores de Globos

Description

These vendors are a staple of the Jardín Principal (the main plaza). They are part of the daily rhythm of the town, particularly in the late afternoons and on weekends.

The Aesthetic: You will typically see a single vendor holding a massive, billowing cluster of dozens of balloons. Because of the constant breeze in the high desert, these "bouquets" of balloons are often the first thing you see moving above the crowd.

What They Sell: They offer a mix of classic round balloons, metallic foil characters (superheroes, cartoons), and traditional long balloons twisted into balloon animals. During festivals like the Fiesta de San Miguel Arcángel, you’ll also see specialized festive shapes.

The Experience: They aren't aggressive sellers; they usually stand at the corners of the Jardín or near the wrought-iron benches. For many families, buying a balloon is a Sunday tradition while listening to the mariachis or watching the mojigangas (giant puppets) dance.
